There are multitudinous kinds of narratives and organizing principles. Information is driven not later than evidence gathered in experiments, and alongside the falsification of extant theories and their replacement with newer, asymptotically truer, ones. Other systems - doctrine, nationalism, paranoid ideation, or craftsmanship - are based on disparaging experiences (fidelity, zeal, paranoia, etc.).
